Katrina Sanctuary [ILW.com Editorial]
The DHS announced that it will not bring sanction actions against employers for hiring [Editor: illegal alien] individuals evacuated or displaced as a result of Hurricane Katrina. For the time being, Hurricane Katrina has created a sanctuary for the undocumented. We commend the government for adopting a compassionate approach to this disaster. The anti-immigrationists doubtless would want to use Katrina as an opportunity to deport the undocumented thus doubly victimizing those are already suffering.
